Spotifast Themes, Mini Player & MilkDrop Visuals Guide

Customize Spotifast: full themes, the Winamp-style mini player, 10,000+ MilkDrop visual presets, and keyboard shortcuts.

Spotifast's looks are one of the best reasons to use it. Themes, the mini player, and MilkDrop visuals turn a music app into something personal. Here's how each works.

Themes

Open settings and head to the appearance section. Spotifast ships with built-in themes — dark, light, and high-contrast options — and supports community-made themes that restyle the entire interface: colors, fonts, spacing, the works. Switching is instant and doesn't need a restart. If a theme you love doesn't exist yet, the theming format is documented on the project's GitHub, and making one is mostly a matter of editing a stylesheet.

Winamp-style mini player

From the view menu, pop out the mini player: a compact, always-on-top strip with the current track, play/pause, skip, and volume. Park it in a screen corner while you work. It channels the classic Winamp era — tiny footprint, full control — and it's the feature longtime desktop users ask about most.

MilkDrop music visuals

Enable visualizations during playback and Spotifast renders MilkDrop-style reactive art driven by the live audio: pulsing geometry, flowing colors, and beat-synced motion. The preset library runs past 10,000 — you can shuffle through them, favorite the best ones, and leave it running fullscreen as an ambient display. It's pure nostalgia done right, and it costs almost nothing in system resources thanks to the native rendering.

Keyboard shortcuts

Pair the visuals with full keyboard control: play/pause, next/previous track, volume, and search all have shortcuts you can customize. Once muscle memory kicks in, you'll barely touch the mouse.

Putting it together

A good setup: your favorite theme, the mini player docked in a corner for daily use, and MilkDrop fullscreen when friends are over. If anything looks wrong after a theme change, the troubleshooting guide covers resets. New to the app entirely? Start with the homepage overview or jump to the comparison with the official app.
